September 2026 was one of the biggest months of the year for luxury watch releases. Geneva Watch Days helped kick off a busy month, but some of the biggest announcements came afterward, with Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Vacheron Constantin and other major Swiss watchmakers introducing important new models.

For collectors, the month was particularly interesting because several of the biggest releases came from brands with some of the strongest followings in the luxury watch market. Rolex introduced a completely new Perpetual Padellone inspired by one of its most important vintage references, while Audemars Piguet introduced a new Royal Oak created with Serena Williams.

From high complications and precious metals to colorful Royal Oaks and vintage inspired Rolex watches, these are some of the best new watches released in September 2026.

Rolex Perpetual Padellone

One of the biggest new watch releases of September 2026 came from Rolex.

On September 15, Rolex introduced the Perpetual Padellone, a new annual calendar watch inspired by the legendary Ref. 8171 from the late 1940s and early 1950s. The original watch earned the Padellone nickname, meaning “large frying pan,” because of its relatively large case for its era.

The new Rolex Perpetual Padellone measures 39mm and is available in 18 karat Everose gold and 950 platinum. It combines an annual calendar with a moonphase display, while the dial shows the day, date and month.

Rolex also gave the watch a number of vintage inspired details while using modern technology inside. The moonphase incorporates meteorite elements, while the new Calibre 7190 provides a 66 hour power reserve.

The Perpetual Padellone is particularly significant because it expands Rolex's modern dress watch lineup while connecting directly to one of the most collectible vintage Rolex references.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph Serena Williams

Audemars Piguet also delivered one of September's most talked about releases with the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph created in collaboration with Serena Williams.

The 38mm Royal Oak features a white ceramic case and bracelet, along with a pink tinted mother of pearl dial. Pink details and a sporty aesthetic give the watch a very different personality from many traditional Royal Oak models.

The watch is powered by Audemars Piguet's new Calibre 6401 automatic chronograph movement. The limited edition is restricted to 500 pieces.

Williams has been an Audemars Piguet ambassador since 2014, making the collaboration a natural continuation of a long relationship between the tennis star and the Swiss manufacturer.

For Royal Oak collectors, the combination of white ceramic, pink mother of pearl and the 38mm case makes this one of the most distinctive new Audemars Piguet watches of 2026.

Rolex Day Date 40 in Jubilee Gold

Rolex also introduced a new direction for the Day Date 40 in September with its proprietary Jubilee Gold alloy.

According to Rolex, the new 18 karat gold alloy was developed and produced within the brand's workshops and can display tones ranging from soft yellow to warm gray and subtle pink.

The release is another example of Rolex using material development to refresh one of its most recognizable watches.

The Day Date remains one of the most famous luxury dress watches in the world, and the new gold alloy gives the classic model a modern visual identity without abandoning its traditional design.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in Rolesium

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona also received an important new configuration in September 2026.

Rolex introduced a Rolesium version combining Oystersteel and platinum, marking the first time the Daytona has been offered in this particular material combination.

The Daytona remains one of Rolex's most recognizable chronographs, and the new configuration gives collectors another way to own the iconic racing inspired model.

The September Rolex releases show just how broad the brand's 2026 strategy has become. The company is continuing to develop its sports watches while also investing heavily in dress watches, complications and new materials.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin

Vacheron Constantin introduced a new blue version of its Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Overseas collection.

The watch features a white gold case and an azure blue dial, creating a particularly striking combination. Inside is the Calibre 1120 QP/1, an ultra thin perpetual calendar movement measuring just 8.1mm thick.

The perpetual calendar automatically accounts for different month lengths and leap years, while the watch comes with three interchangeable straps that can be changed without tools.

Limited to 200 pieces, the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin is priced at $132,000.

Hublot x Jeff Koons Classic Fusion Balloon Dog

Hublot brought a completely different type of creativity to September with its collaboration with artist Jeff Koons.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Balloon Dog transforms Koons' famous Balloon Dog sculpture into a colorful luxury watch. The collection includes blue, red and silver versions with 42mm polished anodized aluminum cases.

The watches feature a double signed dial, Balloon Dog inspired seconds hand and Hublot's HUB1710 automatic movement with approximately 50 hours of power reserve.

Each version is limited to 200 pieces and priced at $24,100.

Hublot also introduced the MP 14 Origin by Jeff Koons, a far more complicated creation featuring a central tourbillon surrounded by an elaborate titanium and sapphire case. That model is limited to just 30 pieces.

IWC Ingenieur Automatic 50th Anniversary

IWC celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Ingenieur SL with two limited edition watches inspired by Gérald Genta's original Ref. 1832 design.

The new Ingenieur Automatic models are available in 35mm and 40mm stainless steel cases and feature silver plated dials inspired by a rare vintage version of the watch.

The 40mm model uses IWC Calibre 32111 and provides a 120 hour power reserve, while the 35mm version uses Calibre 47110 with a 42 hour power reserve.

Both versions are limited to 1,150 pieces, making them particularly interesting for collectors who appreciate the connection between modern watches and important vintage designs.

Hublot, Rolex and Audemars Piguet Lead a Major Month for Watches

What makes September 2026 particularly interesting is the variety of major releases from the industry's biggest names.

Rolex used the month to introduce the Perpetual Padellone, a watch that reaches back to one of its most important vintage references while introducing modern annual calendar technology. The brand also expanded the Day Date and Daytona collections with new materials and configurations.

Audemars Piguet continued developing the Royal Oak with its Serena Williams collaboration, while also releasing an unusually broad range of 2026 novelties throughout the year, including new Royal Oak, Royal Oak Offshore and Code 11.59 models.

Vacheron Constantin focused on traditional high watchmaking with its Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra Thin, while Hublot once again demonstrated its willingness to experiment with art, design and unconventional materials.

The Best New Watches of 2026 Keep Getting More Interesting

September proved that the biggest luxury watch brands are not relying solely on their most established models. Rolex is expanding its complications and experimenting with new materials, Audemars Piguet is continuing to evolve the Royal Oak, and brands such as Vacheron Constantin, Hublot and IWC are finding new ways to connect traditional Swiss watchmaking with modern design.

For luxury watch enthusiasts, the most exciting part is the variety. From the Rolex Perpetual Padellone and Daytona to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Serena Williams, Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar and Hublot's Jeff Koons creations, September 2026 produced some of the most interesting new watches of the year.

For collectors looking for Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, Hublot, IWC and other top luxury watch brands, the newest releases of 2026 provide plenty of options to watch as the year moves toward its final months.
